So although this is old news, I have to say Israel killing Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the founder and spritiual leader of Hamas, is one of the cooler things that they've done. The sheer amount of international condemnation was staggering. "Killing an old man in a wheelchair is not likely to benefit Israel", said british foreign secretary Jack Straw (the coolest named politician ever). How the fuck could it not? For most of history the world has been ruled by old men, and just cause they are in a wheelchair doesn't mean they can't order the carpet bombing of Dresden or dozens of suicide bombings. Israel gets condemned despite the fact that they take great care to spare civilian life, which can be pretty damn tough when you use tanks and helicopters.
